Abstract
An electrode assembly includes a positive electrode plate, a negative electrode plate, and a separator interposed between the positive and negative electrode plates, the separator having a polymer binder coating thereon, the positive electrode plate, the separator, and the negative electrode plate being sequentially stacked and wound in the shape of a jelly-roll, the jelly-roll being pressed through a heat press process.

An electrode assembly, comprising:
- a positive electrode plate;
- a negative electrode plate;
- and
- a separator interposed between the positive and negative electrode plates, the separator having a polymer binder coating thereon, the positive electrode plate, the separator, and the negative electrode plate being sequentially stacked and wound in the shape of a jelly-roll, the jelly-roll being pressed through a heat press process.

A method of manufacturing a secondary battery, the method comprising:
- forming a jelly-roll by sequentially stacking and winding a positive electrode plate, a separator having a polymer binder coating thereon, and a negative electrode plate;
- and
- pressing the jelly-roll through a heat press process.
