Abstract
The present invention relates to veterinary compositions and methods of treating and/or preventing mastitis in non-human mammals. More particularly, the present invention relates to the treatment of mastitis in cows. The veterinary composition comprises a water soluble, locally-acting, antimicrobial amine functional polyamide polymer.

A veterinary composition for treating or preventing infections in non-human animals, comprising a suitable veterinary carrier and at least one antimicrobial polyamide;
- and wherein the polyamide is present in a bactericidally effective amount, such that the composition is effective in treating or preventing infections or disease states caused by at least one of the following pathogens:
- Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Mycoplasma bovis, and E. coli.
