Abstract
The present invention provides a compound useful as an agent for the prophylaxis or treatment of neurodegenerative disease and the like, or a salt thereof. The present invention relates to a compound represented by the formula (I) wherein each symbol is as defined in the specification, or a salt thereof.

A compound represented by the formula (I):
- wherein
- R1 is an optionally substituted C1-6 alkyl group;
- R2 is a hydrogen atom or an optionally substituted C1-6 alkyl group;
- R3 is an optionally substituted 5- or 6-membered aromatic heterocyclic group;
- ring A is a further optionally substituted piperidine ring (the piperidine ring is optionally bridged);
- and
- ring B is a further optionally substituted 5- or 6-membered aromatic ring (X and Y are independently a carbon atom or a nitrogen atom),
- or a salt thereof.
(4-benzyl-4-hydroxypiperidin-1-yl)(2,4′-bipyridin-3-yl)methanone or a salt thereof.
2,4′-bipyridin-3-yl(4-(4-fluorobenzyl)-4-hydroxypiperidin-1-yl)methanone or a salt thereof.
2,4′-bipyridin-3-yl(4-(2,4-difluorobenzyl)-4-hydroxypiperidin-1-yl)methanone or a salt thereof.
