Abstract
A mobile station receives, from a server, a resource request relating to a pending delivery to the mobile station of a data item, the resource request including an instruction for the mobile station to acquire a network resource to enable delivery of the data item over a wireless network. The mobile station acquires, in response to the instruction, the network resource. In response to acquiring the network resource, the mobile station sends, to the server, a request to cause delivery of the data item from the server to the mobile station.
Claims20
A mobile station comprising:
- a communication component to communicate with a server;
- and
- at least one processor configured to:
- receive, from the server, a resource request relating to a pending delivery to the mobile station of a data item, the resource request including an instruction for the mobile station to acquire a network resource to enable delivery of the data item over a wireless network;
- acquire, in response to the instruction, the network resource;
- in response to acquiring the network resource, send, to the server, a request to cause delivery of the data item from the server to the mobile station.
A method comprising:
- receiving, by a mobile station from a server, a resource request relating to a pending delivery to the mobile station of a data item, the resource request including an instruction for the mobile station to acquire a network resource to enable delivery of the data item over a wireless network;
- acquiring, by the mobile station in response to the instruction, the network resource;
- and
- in response to acquiring the network resource, sending, by the mobile station to the server, a request to cause delivery of the data item from the server to the mobile station.
A non-transitory machine-readable storage medium storing instructions that upon execution cause a mobile station to:
- receive, from a server, a resource request relating to a pending delivery to the mobile station of a data item, the resource request including an instruction for the mobile station to acquire a network resource to enable delivery of the data item over a wireless network;
- acquire, in response to the instruction, the network resource;
- and
- in response to acquiring the network resource, send, to the server, a request to cause delivery of the data item from the server to the mobile station.
