Decomposing xml schema documents into subsets

A system for decomposing a set of schema files comprising:

• at least one processor configured to:
• automatically identify a plurality of root schema files in the set of schema files, wherein each root schema file is limited to information for that schema file;
• and
• create a subset for each root schema file, wherein each subset contains the root schema file and at least one subset further includes one or more schema files that provide information for that root schema file.

A computer program product comprising:

• a computer readable storage medium having computer readable program code embodied therewith for execution on a first processing system, the computer readable program code comprising computer readable program code configured to:
• automatically identify a plurality of root schema files in the set of schema files, wherein each root schema file is limited to information for that schema file;
• and
• create a subset for each root schema file, wherein each subset contains the root schema file and at least one subset further includes one or more schema files that provide information for that root schema file.
