Virtual model merging systems and methods

A virtual modeling system comprising:

• a model selection module that indicates a first virtual model selected by a user and that indicates a second virtual model selected by the user;
• a list including:
• a first set of names of object blocks that are in at least one subsystem of the first virtual model but that are not in at least one subsystem of the second virtual model;
• and
• a second set of names of object blocks that are in the at least one subsystem of the second virtual model but that are not in the at least one subsystem of the first virtual model;
• a user interface (UI) module that selectively displays the first and second sets of names on a display;
• and
• a merging module that, in response to user input to merge object blocks from the first virtual model to the second virtual model:
• copies the object blocks from the first virtual model to the second virtual model;
• and
• connects the object blocks in the second virtual model based on connections between the object blocks in the first virtual model.
