Systems and Methods for Dynamic Audio Processing

A method for mastering digital audio, the method including steps comprising:

• downloading a digital audio file having a first clock frequency for playback;
• outputting, for modification, a representation of audio based on a second clock frequency that is higher than the first clock frequency, wherein the representation of audio comprises one of the digital audio file or a representative analog signal, wherein the modification includes at least one of compression, equalization, and limiting;
• receiving a modified representation of the audio based on the second clock frequency;
• storing the modified representation of the audio as a modified digital audio file;
• and
• converting the clock frequency of the modified digital audio file to the first clock frequency.

An audio processing device, comprising:

• an input interface that downloads and stores at least a portion of a digital audio file that has a first clock frequency for normal playback;
• a processor that increases the playback clock frequency of the digital audio to a higher second frequency without converting the sample rate of the digital audio;
• a digital-to-analog converter that converts the digital audio to analog audio at the second clock speed;
• an analog modification circuit that applies at least one of compression, limiting, and equalization to the analog audio;
• an analog-to-digital converter that converts the modified analog audio to modified digital audio;
• a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium that stores the modified digital audio, wherein the modified digital audio is thereafter assigned the first clock frequency for normal playback;
• and
• an output interface that outputs the modified digital audio.
