Resource management using environments

A system comprising:

• a reception module configured to receive a plurality of time-based reservation requests to reserve respective resource environments, each one of the plurality of reservation requests including a test data requirement indicating respective test data that is to be processed by a corresponding application during test execution of the application in the corresponding resource environment;
• and
• a conflict processor configured
• to detect a reservation conflict between two or more of the plurality of reservation requests, the reservation conflict being based at least in part on a test data conflict which comprises a conflict between the respective test data requirements of the two or more reservation requests, and
• to resolve the reservation conflict based on predefined conflict resolution criteria.

A method comprising:

• receiving a plurality of time-based reservation requests to reserve respective resource environments, each one of the plurality of reservation requests including a test data requirement indicating respective test data that is to be processed by a corresponding application during test execution of the application in the corresponding resource environment;
• and
• detecting a reservation conflict between two or more of the plurality of reservation requests, the reservation conflict being based at least in part on a test data conflict which comprises a conflict between the respective test data requirements of the two or more reservation requests, and
• resolving the reservation conflict based on predefined conflict resolution criteria.

A non-transitory computer readable storage medium that includes instructions for causing a machine, when the instructions are executed by machine, to perform operations comprising:

• receiving a plurality of time-based reservation requests to reserve respective resource environments, each one of the plurality of reservation requests including a test data requirement indicating respective test data that is to be processed by a corresponding application during test execution of the application in the corresponding resource environment;
• and
• detecting a reservation conflict between two or more of the plurality of reservation requests, the reservation conflict being based at least in part on a test data conflict which comprises a conflict between the respective test data requirements of the two or more reservation requests, and
• resolving the reservation conflict based on predefined conflict resolution criteria.
