Techniques to improve accuracy of a medical report relating to a medical imaging study

A system comprising:

• at least one processor;
• and
• at least one storage device storing computer-readable program instructions which, when executed by the at least one processor, perform acts of:
• analyzing at least one value of at least one data type from a medical imaging study, the at least one data type comprising at least one type of measurement data from the medical imaging study and/or at least one type of calculation data from the medical imaging study;
• determining whether the at least one analyzed data value is outside of a normal range for the at least one data type;
• and
• during preparation of a medical report comprising a medical professional's impression of the medical imaging study, generating an alert to the medical professional in response to determining that the at least one analyzed data value is outside of the normal range.

An article of manufacture having stored thereon computer-readable program instructions which, when executed by at least one processor, perform acts of:

• analyzing at least one value of at least one data type from a medical imaging study, the at least one data type comprising at least one type of measurement data from the medical imaging study and/or at least one type of calculation data from the medical imaging study;
• determining whether the at least one analyzed data value is outside of a normal range for the at least one data type;
• and
• during preparation of a medical report comprising a medical professional's impression of the medical imaging study, generating an alert to the medical professional in response to determining that the at least one analyzed data value is outside of the normal range.
