Abstract
The invention provides the use of potassium piperonyl pentadienoate for lowering blood lipid, including the use of the potassium piperonyl pentadienoate in the preparation of medicaments and health-care products for lowering serum total cholesterol, lowering low density lipoprotein cholesterol, lowering triglyceride as well as preventing the decrease of high density lipoprotein cholesterol.

A method for treating or preventing the diseases associated with the increased blood lipid, increased serum total cholesterol, increased low density lipoprotein cholesterol, the decrease of high density lipoprotein cholesterol or increased triglyceride, in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering to the subject an effective amount of potassium piperonyl pentadienoate or the medicament comprising potassium piperonyl pentadienoate.
