Abstract
According to one embodiment, a solid electrolyte includes a sintered body of ceramic grains. The sintered body includes a crystal plane having an ion conducting path. The crystal plane is oriented in a direction which intersects at least one surface of the solid electrolyte.

A solid electrolyte comprising:
- a ceramic-grain sintered body comprising a crystal plane having an ion conducting path, and the crystal plane is oriented in a direction which intersects at least one surface of the solid electrolyte.
A battery comprising:
- a positive electrode;
- a negative electrode;
- and
- a solid electrolyte provided between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, wherein
- the solid electrolyte comprises a ceramic-grain sintered body comprising a crystal plane having an ion conducting path, and the crystal plane is oriented in a direction which intersects the positive electrode and the negative electrode.

A manufacturing method of solid electrolyte comprising:
- applying an alternating electric field in a direction which intersects at least one surface of a solid electrolyte precursor comprising a ceramic-grain sintered body comprising a crystal plane having an ion conducting path, while heating the solid electrolyte precursor, thereby orienting the crystal plane.
