Abstract
A method and apparatus for switching a band in a wireless local access network (WLAN) is provided. The method includes transmitting a multi-band switch request message to request switching from a first frequency band to a second frequency band, and receiving a multi-band switch response message in response to the multi-band switch request message. The multi-band switch request message includes a multi-band switch schedule to operate in the second frequency band. Wider coverage can be supported by using multi-band.
Claims9
A method for a wireless local access network, the method comprising:
- transmitting, by a station, an association request frame to an access point;
- and
- receiving, by the station, an association response frame from the access point while the access point is operating on a first frequency band, the association response frame including multi-channel information indicating a second frequency band on which the access point intends to operate.
A device for a wireless local access network, the device comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- a memory operatively coupled with the processor and configured to store instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause to the device to:
- transmit an association request frame to an access point, and
- receive an association response frame from the access point while the access point is operating on a first frequency band, the association response frame including multi-channel information indicating a second frequency band on which the access point intends to operate.
A method for a wireless local access network, the method comprising:
- receiving, by an access point, an association request frame from a station;
- and
- transmitting, by the access point, an association response frame to the station while the access point is operating on a first frequency band, the association response frame including multi-channel information indicating a second frequency band on which the access point intends to operate.
