Identifying modulation and coding schemes and channel quality indicators

An apparatus for wireless communications, comprising:

• a processor;
• a memory in electronic communication with the processor;
• and
• instructions stored in the memory, the instructions being executable by the processor to:
• support the use of at least two channel quality indicator (CQI) reporting tables;
• identify one of the at least two CQI tables;
• and
• use the identified CQI table to generate a CQI value for a wireless channel.

An apparatus for wireless communications, comprising:

• means for supporting the use of at least two channel quality indicator (CQI) reporting tables;
• means for identifying one of the at least two CQI tables;
• and
• means for using the identified CQI table to generate a CQI value for a wireless channel.

A computer program product for managing wireless communications, the computer program product comprising a non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions executable by a processor to:

• support the use of at least two channel quality indicator (CQI) reporting tables;
• identify one of the at least two CQI tables;
• and
• use the identified CQI table to generate a CQI value for a wireless channel.

A method for wireless communications, comprising:

• supporting the use of at least two modulation and coding scheme (MCS) tables;
• receiving a transmission via a wireless channel;
• and
• identifying one of the at least two MCS tables to use for the received transmission.

An apparatus for wireless communications, comprising:

• a processor;
• a memory in electronic communication with the processor;
• and
• instructions stored in the memory, the instructions being executable by the processor to:
• support the use of at least two modulation and coding scheme (MCS) tables;
• receive a transmission via a wireless channel;
• and
• identify one of the at least two MCS tables to use for the received transmission.

• means for supporting the use of at least two modulation and coding scheme (MCS) tables;
• means for receiving a transmission via a wireless channel;
• and
• means for identifying one of the at least two MCS tables to use for the received transmission.

A computer program product for managing wireless communications, the computer program product comprising a non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions executable by a processor to:

• support the use of at least two modulation and coding scheme (MCS) tables;
• receive a transmission via a wireless channel;
• and
• identify one of the at least two MCS tables to use for the received transmission.

• supporting the use of at least two modulation and coding scheme (MCS) tables;
• identifying one of the at least two MCS tables;
• and
• using the identified MCS table to identify an MCS for a transmission.

• receiving CQI data for a wireless channel;

• identifying one of the at least two CQI tables to use to identify a CQI value based on the CQI data.

• instructions stored in the memory, the instructions being executable by the processor to:
• support the use of at least two channel quality indicator (CQI) tables;
• receive CQI data for a wireless channel;
• and
• identify one of the at least two CQI tables to use to identify a CQI value based on the CQI data.
