Abstract
A route for establishing a wireless connection between a wireless device and a node may be selected based on an estimated duration of the route. The route duration may be estimated based on information related to the expected movement of nodes included in the route.
Claims30
A method for wireless communication comprising:
- based on information about estimated durations of wireless routes between a mobile device and a node, enabling a computer processor to connect the mobile device and the node using one of the wireless routes.
A non-transitory computer readable medium storing instructions to cause a computer to:
- determine a wireless route including a mobile device, an intermediate node, and a destination node;
- based on information about an estimated duration of the wireless route, connect the mobile device and the destination node using the wireless route.
A mobile device comprising:
- a wireless transceiver;
- and
- a controller coupled to the wireless transceiver, the controller to:
- based on an estimated duration of a wireless route to an access point, connect to the access point.

- a wireless transceiver;
- and
- a controller coupled to the wireless transceiver, the controller to:
- receive a route discovery message through a wireless route;
- and
- in response to the route discovery message, send a route report message along the wireless route, wherein the route report message is to store expected movement information for at least one intermediate node included in the wireless route.
