Spectroscopic measurement device, color management system, and method of generating profile

A color management system comprising:

• a spectroscopic measurement device including:
• a spectral filter adapted to disperse incident light so that light with a predetermined wavelength can be extracted,
• an imaging section adapted to image the light dispersed by the spectral filter to obtain a spectral image, and
• a data output section adapted to output measurement data which includes a light intensity in each pixel of each of a plurality of spectral images and a coordinate value of the pixel associated with each other, as profile-generating data in a case in which the imaging section obtains the spectral images with respect to a color pattern including a plurality of differently colored color patches output from an image output device;
• and
• a profile generation device having a profile generation section adapted to generate a profile of the image output device based on the profile-generating data output from the spectroscopic measurement device.

A method of generating a profile in a color management system, the method comprising:

• providing the color management system with a spectroscopic measurement device and a profile generation device, the spectroscopic measurement device including:
• a spectral filter adapted to disperse incident light so that light with a predetermined wavelength can be extracted, and
• an imaging section adapted to image the light dispersed by the spectral filter to obtain a spectral image, and
• the profile generation device generating a profile of an image output device;
• imaging, by the imaging section, a color pattern including a plurality of differently colored color patches output from the image output device while changing a wavelength of the light to be selected by the spectral filter to obtain a plurality of spectral images with respective wavelengths;
• outputting measurement data which includes a light intensity in each pixel of each of the spectral images and a coordinate value of the pixel associated with each other, as profile-generating data;
• and
• generating the profile of the image output device based on the profile-generating data.
