Pressure and Angle-Sensitive Stylus Device

A stylus device for use with an interactive device including a surface that detects pressure by the stylus device, the stylus device comprising:

• a stylus body;
• a stylus head portion attachable to the stylus body;
• three pressure sensors, wherein the three pressure sensors are arranged in a radially symmetric pattern about a longitudinal axis of the stylus device;
• a pivot, wherein the pivot is located on the longitudinal axis of the stylus device and the pivot is attached to the stylus body;
• and
• a control unit, the control unit configured to:
• detect a plurality of pressure inputs using the three pressure sensors;
• determine an angle of pressure applied to the stylus device from the a plurality of pressure inputs;
• and
• transmit the angle of pressure to the interactive device.

A method for use by a stylus device, the method comprising:

• detecting a plurality of pressure inputs using a plurality of sensors;
• determining an angle of pressure applied to the stylus device from the plurality of pressure inputs;
• and
• transmitting the angle of pressure to an interactive device.
