A method for coating an insulation component, comprising PEEK (polyether ether ketone), for the insulation of an electrically conductive heating cable, comprising:
- treating at least portions of the surface of the insulation component with a cold plasma flame;
- and
- applying a protective layer to the treated surface of the insulation component.
An insulation component for the insulation of an electrically conductive heating cable, comprising:
- PEEK (polyether ether ketone),
- wherein at least portions of the surface of the insulation component are provided with a protective layer.
