Linear clutch for use with a bow and an arrow rest

A clutch mechanism for allowing an arrow rest launcher arm to move from an arrow fired position into an arrow support position, said clutch comprising:

• a. a body having a first end configured to operatively connect to an arrow rest launcher arm and a second end configured to receive a shaft;
• b. a shaft having a first end operatively received in the body second end and a second end configured to operatively connect to a bow;
• and
• c. a delay mechanism,
• wherein
• (1) the body and shaft are moveable between:
• a first position in which the shaft first end is proximate the clutch body first end,
• a second position in which the shaft first end is proximate the clutch body second end,
• (2) the delay mechanism is configured to substantially maintain the body and shaft in the first position for a period of time of between 0.001-0.05 seconds prior to moving from the first position into the second position,
• (3) the body first end is operatively coupled to the arrow rest launcher arm and the shaft second end is operatively coupled to the bow.

A clutch mechanism for allowing an arrow rest launcher arm to move from an arrow fired position into an arrow support position, said clutch comprising:

• a. a means for connecting a clutch to an arrow rest, the arrow rest having an arrow rest launcher arm moveable between an arrow support position and an arrow fired position;
• b. a means for connecting the clutch to a bow;
• c. a means for allowing the clutch to move between a first clutch position and a second clutch position;
• and
• d. a means for delaying the movement of the clutch from the first position to the second position,
• e. wherein
• (1) when the clutch is in the first clutch position and an arrow is fired from the bow, the clutch facilitates movement of the arrow rest launcher arm from the arrow support position into the arrow fired position,
• (2) the delay means substantially delays the clutch from moving from the first clutch position into the second clutch position for a period of time of between 0.001-0.05 seconds, and
• (3) when the clutch moves into the second clutch position after the arrow is fired from the bow, the clutch facilitates movement of the arrow rest launcher arm into the arrow support position.
