Abstract
An aircraft air conditioning system comprising a compressor adapted to generate compressed process air, an air conditioning unit adapted to cool and expand compressed process air supplied to the air conditioning unit from the compressor, and an energy converter adapted to convert hydraulic energy into electric energy. The compressor is supplied with electric energy generated by the energy converter by converting hydraulic energy supplied to the energy converter.

An aircraft air conditioning system comprising:
- a compressor adapted to generate compressed process air,
- an air conditioning unit adapted to cool and expand compressed process air supplied to the air conditioning unit from the compressor, and
- an energy converter adapted to convert hydraulic energy into electric energy, wherein the compressor is supplied with electric energy generated by the energy converter by converting hydraulic energy supplied to the energy converter.
A method of operating an aircraft air conditioning system, the method comprising:
- generating compressed process air with a compressor,
- cooling and expanding compressed process air generated by the compressor in an air conditioning unit,
- converting hydraulic energy into electric energy with an energy converter, and
- supplying electric energy, generated by the energy converter by converting hydraulic energy, to the compressor.
