Dynamic negotiation and authorization system to record rights-managed content

A method of negotiating a rights-managed recording event, the method comprising:

• determining a content to be recorded;
• a confidence level corresponding to a likelihood that the content to be recorded is a right-managed content
• determining whether the content is a rights-managed content
• determining a confidence level of the determined rights-managed content indicating the rights-managed content is a correct content to be recorded;
• alerting at least one condition at a digital media recording device in response to determining the content is a rights-managed content;
• and
• performing a recording of the rights-managed content according to the at least one condition.
