Mobile device security management system

A mobile device management system for securing a client device, comprising:

• a client device, comprising:
• a memory medium comprising instructions;
• a bus coupled to the memory medium;
• and
• a processor coupled to the bus that when executing the instructions causes the client device to:
• receive a security policy;
• apply the security policy;
• determine an occurrence of a security policy event;
• determine a violation based on the occurrence of the security policy event;
• and
• apply different security controls based on predefined elapsed times.

A computer-readable storage medium storing computer instructions which, when executed, enables a computer system to secure a client device in a mobile device management system (MDMS), the computer instructions comprising:

• receiving a security policy at a client device;
• applying the security policy on the client device;
• determining an occurrence of a security policy event;
• determining a violation based on the occurrence of the security policy event;
• and
• applying different security controls based on predefined elapsed times.
