Method And Device For Providing Correlation Means In Hybrid Telecommunication Networks

A method for providing correlation means within a telecommunications system comprising a voice network and a data network, the voice and data networks being connected to at least a first user equipment and a network entity, where the first user equipment and the network entity have network connections, each associated with a network address, to the voice and data networks, the method comprising the steps of:

• setting up a first communication session by one of the first user equipment and the network entity towards the other of the first user equipment and the network entity, via the voice network;
• setting up a second communication session by one of the first user equipment and the network entity towards the other of the first user equipment and the network entity, via the data network, including providing the network entity with a call session identifier being the network address in the voice network of the first user equipment, the first and second communication sessions being present on the voice and data networks, and
• providing a correlation node, connected to the voice and data networks, with a Combinational Call Indicator (CCI) variable the CCI indicating whether the first communication session is combinational with the second communication session, where the correlation node is adapted to determine that the first and the second communication session are combinational when the received CCI variable is set.

A correlation node for operation in a telecommunication system, where the telecommunication system comprises voice and data networks, and where the correlation node has network connections, each associated with a network address, to the voice and data networks, the correlation node comprising:

• an Input Output (I/O) unit communicatively connected to the voice and data networks, by means of the network connections,
• a processing unit,
• a program storage and memory unit for storing an application program for execution by the processing unit,
• the I/O unit being adapted for, in cooperation with the processing unit executing the application program, providing a first user equipment or network entity with a call session identifier, which is the network address in the voice network corresponding to the first user equipment and for receiving and storing the call session identifier,
• the correlation node being adapted to receive a Combinational Call Indicator (CCI) variable, for indicating whether a first communication session is combinational with a second communication session, and where the correlation node is further adapted to determine that the first and the second communication sessions are combinational when the received CCI variable is set.
