Adaptive re-establishment of data sessions

Apparatus, comprising:

• a transceiver, which is configured to communicate with base stations so as to hold data sessions;
• and
• processing circuitry, which is configured to hold a definition of multiple re-establishment modes, each re-establishment mode defining a respective criterion for selecting a base station with which to re-establish failed data sessions, to collect success statistics of one or more of the re-establishment modes in a given geographical region, and, in response to a failure in a data session occurring while in the given geographical region, to select a re-establishment mode from among the multiple re-establishment modes based on the success statistics and to re-establish the data session using the selected re-establishment mode.
