Jurisdiction based parameter setting for wireless transceivers

A method comprising:

• providing a first circuit supporting data communications according to a first communications standard, a second circuit supporting data communications according to a second communications standard, and a wireless receiver configured to periodically receive location signals indicative of a physical location of the wireless receiver;
• receiving a first location signal from the wireless receiver;
• enabling at least one of the first circuit and the second circuit based at least in part on the physical location as indicated by the first location signal;
• and
• delaying processing of a second location signal received by the wireless receiver by an adjustable amount based on the physical location of the wireless receiver as indicated by the first location signal.

A wireless electronic device for jurisdiction compliance comprising:

• a wireless receiver configured to periodically receive location signals indicative of a physical location of the wireless receiver;
• a look-up table configured to determine an operational jurisdiction based on the physical location of the wireless receiver as indicated by a first location signal, at least one of a first circuit and a second circuit enabled based on the operational jurisdiction;
• and
• an adjustable delay configured to delay processing of a second location signal from the wireless receiver by an adjustable amount based on the physical location of the wireless receiver as indicated by the first location signal.
