Abstract
A telecommunication system that carries out telecommunication functions between multiple parties as initiated by the user interaction with a social network application, while maintaining privacy of the device identifiers (phone numbers or static IP addresses assigned to devices) of the participating parties.

A mobile network operator (MNO) gateway for use in a system supporting advanced telecommunication functions, the MNO gateway comprising:
- a communication interface that receives at least one message relating to a real-time communication request, wherein the at least one message includes information about at least one social network user that is making or is an intended recipient of said requested communication and that has a plan with the MNO, including a device identifier and at least one item of additional data;
- and
- functionality that uses said additional data pertaining said social network user for administering the plan with the MNO that is associated with said social network user.
A method carried out by a mobile network operator (MNO) gateway for use in supporting advanced telecommunication functions, the method comprising:
- receiving at least one message relating to a real-time communication request, wherein the at least one message includes information about at least one social network user that is making or is an intended recipient of said requested communication and that has a plan with the MNO, including a device identifier and at least one item of additional data;
- and
- using said additional data pertaining said social network user for administering the plan with the MNO that is associated with said social network user.
