An electrolyte for a rechargeable lithium battery, comprising
- a lithium salt;
- an organic solvent;
- and
- an additive,
- wherein the organic solvent comprises a fluorinated ether, and
- the additive comprises a first lithium compound including a bissulfonyl imide anion and a lithium ion, and a second lithium compound including a complex anion said complex anion including a dicarboxylate anion coordinated on a center atom, and a lithium ion.
