Functional layers comprising ni-inclusive ternary alloys and methods of making the same

A coated article including a coating supported by a glass substrate, the coating comprising:

• a first dielectric layer comprising silicon nitride on the glass substrate;
• an IR reflecting layer comprising 63-67 wt. % Ni, 1-2 wt. % Cr, and 25-30 wt. % Mo over and contacting the first dielectric layer;
• a layer comprising NbZr over and contacting the IR reflecting layer;
• a second dielectric layer comprising silicon nitride over and contacting the layer comprising NbZr;
• and
• an overcoat layer comprising an oxide of zirconium over and contacting the second dielectric layer.

A coated article including a coating supported by a glass substrate, the coating comprising:

• a first dielectric layer on the glass substrate;
• an IR reflecting layer comprising 63-67 wt. % Ni, 1-2 wt. % Cr, and 25-30 wt. % Mo over the first dielectric layer;
• and
• a second dielectric layer on the glass substrate over at least the IR reflecting layer.
