A method for annealing at least a portion of at least one component of a reactor core of a nuclear fission reactor, the method comprising:
- determining an annealing temperature range for at least a portion of at least one component of a reactor core of a nuclear fission reactor, the annealing temperature range being higher than a predetermined operating temperature range of the reactor core;
- and
- annealing at least the portion of the at least one component within the annealing temperature range.
