Abstract
A method for transmitting data between access points in a locomotive consist is disclosed. The method may include determining, at a sending access point, the number of locomotives across which a communication signal will be sent. The method may also include selecting, based on the number of determined locomotives, a first transmission spectrum from among one or more transmission spectrums. The method may further include equalizing the communication signal using the selected first transmission spectrum and sending the equalized communication signal to a receiving access point.

A method for transmitting data between access points in a locomotive consist, the method comprising:
- determining, at a sending access point, the number of locomotives across which a communication signal will be sent;
- selecting, based on the number of determined locomotives, a first transmission spectrum from among a plurality of transmission spectrums;
- equalizing the communication signal using the selected first transmission spectrum;
- and
- sending the equalized communication signal to a receiving access point.
A system for transmitting data between access points in a locomotive consist, comprising:
- one or more memories storing instructions;
- and
- one or more processors configured to execute the instructions to:
- determine, at a sending access point, the number of locomotives across which a communication signal will be sent;
- select, based on the number of determined locomotives, a first transmission spectrum from among a plurality of transmission spectrums;
- equalize the communication signal using the selected first transmission spectrum;
- and
- send the equalized communication signal to a receiving access point,
A locomotive consist comprising:
- a plurality of locomotives;
- a communications network;
- a plurality of access points disposed within locomotives of the locomotive consist and communicatively coupled to the communications network;
- and
- a processor configured to determine, at a sending access point, the number of locomotives across which a communication signal will be sent, select, based on the number of determined locomotives, a first transmission spectrum from among a plurality of transmission spectrums, equalize the communication signal using the selected first transmission spectrum, and send the equalized communication signal to a receiving access point.
