Information processing apparatus and method

An information processing apparatus comprising:

• a display device configured to display a selection window for selecting a print setting item to be controlled to a state in which an option is unmodifiable to another option from among a plurality of print setting items included in a user interface of a device driver;
• and
• a creation unit configured to create a file for installing a device driver in which a selection via the selection window is reflected,
• wherein, in response to an instruction for installing the device driver using the file created by the creation unit, a device driver in which an option of the print setting item selected via the selection window is unmodifiable to another option is installed based on the file created by the creation unit.

A method performed by an information processing apparatus, the method comprising steps of:

• displaying a selection window for selecting a print setting item to be controlled to a state in which an option is unmodifiable to another option from among a plurality of print setting items included in a user interface of a device driver;
• and
• creating a file for installing a device driver in which a selection via the selection window is reflected,
• wherein, in response to an instruction for installing the device driver using a file created in the creating step, a device driver in which an option of the print setting item selected via the selection window is unmodifiable to another option is installed based on the file created in the creating step.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing computer code that when executed causes an information processing method to be performed by a computer of an information processing apparatus, wherein the method comprises steps of:

• displaying a selection window for selecting a print setting item to be controlled to a state in which an option is unmodifiable to another option from among a plurality of print setting items included in a user interface of a device driver;
• and
• creating a file for installing a device driver in which a selection via the selection window is reflected,
• wherein, in response to an instruction for installing the device driver using a file created in the creating step, a device driver in which an option of the print setting item selected via the selection window is unmodifiable to another option is installed based on the file created in the creating step.
