Abstract
Techniques to provide a micro-broadcast of an event are described. Video data streams of a live event at a venue may be captured in one or more wireless camera devices. The data streams may be sent to one of a network of wireless access points where they are relayed to a control center. A computer system in the control center may select one of the video data streams to be broadcast as a micro-broadcast. The selected video data stream may then be formatted for the micro-broadcast before a micro-broadcast transmitter broadcasts the formatted selected video data stream.
Claims41
A system comprising:
- one or more wireless camera devices to capture video data streams of a live event at a venue;
- a network of wireless access points arranged about the venue so as to provide wireless communication coverage of the entire venue, each wireless access point operative to establish a wireless connection with the one or more wireless camera devices that are within range of a wireless access point to receive the video data streams from the one or more wireless camera devices;
- a control center comprising:
- a processing component operative to receive the video data streams from the network of wireless access points;
- a switching component operative on the processing component, the switching component to select one of the video data streams to be micro-broadcast;
- and
- a formatting component operative on the processing component, the formatting component to format the selected video data stream for the micro-broadcast.
A computer-implemented method, comprising:
- capturing video data streams of a live event at a venue in one or more wireless camera devices;
- sending the video data streams to one of a network of wireless access points;
- relaying the video data streams from the network of wireless access points to a control center;
- selecting one of the video data streams to be broadcast;
- formatting the selected video data stream for a micro-broadcast;
- and
- broadcasting the formatted selected video data stream.
At least one computer-readable storage medium comprising instructions that, when executed, cause a system to:
- receive video data streams from a network of wireless access points, the video data streams of a live event at a venue;
- select one of the video data streams to be broadcast;
- format the selected video data stream for a micro-broadcast;
- and
- broadcast the formatted selected video data stream.
