Abstract
In one embodiment, a method includes receiving a number of recommendations for a first user. Each recommendation being made by a second user and including information that: identifies an item being recommended; provides an explanation for the recommendation; identifies the first user as an addressee of the recommendation; and identifies the second user as an author of the recommendation. The method also includes providing for presentation to the first user one or more of the recommendations.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- by a server computing device, receiving a plurality of recommendations for a first user, each recommendation being made by one of a plurality of second users and comprising information that:
- identifies an item being recommended;
- provides an explanation for the recommendation;
- identifies the first user as an addressee of the recommendation;
- and
- identifies the second user as an author of the recommendation;
- and
- by the server computing device, providing for presentation to the first user one or more of the recommendations.
One or more computer-readable non-transitory storage media embodying logic configured when executed to:
- receive a plurality of recommendations for a first user, each recommendation being made by one of a plurality of second users and comprising information that:
- identifies an item being recommended;
- provides an explanation for the recommendation;
- identifies the first user as an addressee of the recommendation;
- and
- identifies the second user as an author of the recommendation;
- and
- provide for presentation to the first user one or more of the recommendations.
A method comprising:
- by a mobile client computing device, sending location data to a server computing device, the location data corresponding to a current geo-location of the mobile client computing device associated with a first user;
- and
- by the mobile client computing device, receiving one or more recommendations for the first user from the server computing device in response to sending the location data, each recommendation being made by one of a plurality of second users and comprising information that:
- identifies an item being recommended;
- provides an explanation for the recommendation;
- identifies the first user as an addressee of the recommendation;
- and
- identifies the second user as an author of the recommendation.
