The moisture content is at most 25% by mass, and the viscosity at a shear velocity of 10 s−1 is at most 2000 mPa·s. A method for producing composite particles for a positive electrode of an electrochemical element includes kneading a mixture including a positive electrode active material, a conductive material, and a water soluble resin including a monomeric unit containing an acidic functional group, preparing a slurry composition with a moisture content of at most 25% by mass and a viscosity at a shear velocity of 10 s−1 of at most 2000 mPa·s by adding a granular binder resin and water to the kneaded mixture, and spray drying the slurry composition.
