Water-soluble surfactant composition, ink formulation and paper coating formulation

A water-soluble surfactant composition comprising

• (A) 1 to 60% by weight of a glycidyl ether-capped acetylenic diol ethoxylate having the average compositional formula (1):
• wherein R1 is independently hydrogen, a linear C1-C6 alkyl group or branched or cyclic C3-C6 alkyl group;
• R2 is independently a linear C1-C12 alkyl group or branched or cyclic C3-C12 alkyl group;
• R3 is —CH2OR4, R4 is independently a linear C2-C30 alkyl group, branched or cyclic C3-C30 alkyl group, C2-C30 alkenyl group, C6-C30 aryl group or C7-C30 aralkyl group;
• n, m, p and q are positive numbers, n+m has an average value from 1 to 100, and p+q has an average value from 0.5 to 5, and
• (B) 40 to 99% by weight of a polyoxyalkylene alkyl ether having the average compositional formula (II):
• R5O(C2H4O)a(C3H6O)b(C2H4O)c(C3H6O)dH (II)
• wherein R5 is a linear, branched or cyclic C5-C20 alkyl group, a, b, c and d are 0 or positive numbers from 0 to 25, with the proviso that either one of a and b is not equal to 0, 0≦a+c≦50, and 0≦b+d≦30, said polyoxyalkylene alkyl ether having an HLB value from 8 to 18.
