Abstract
An accessory device for attachment to a firearm may include a device body having a light source and a biasing member extending from the device body through an aperture of a rail clip. The biasing member has a distal end shaped for insertion into a firearm slot, and the device body has an anti-rotation feature that prevents the body from rotating about the biasing member with respect to the rail clip when the distal end is inserted in the firearm slot.
Claims20
An accessory device for attachment to a firearm, comprising:
- a device body comprising a light source;
- a biasing member extending from said device body through an aperture of a rail clip;
- said biasing member comprising a distal end shaped for insertion into a slot;
- and
- said device body comprising a number of protrusions coupled to the device body and protruding into the rail clip to prevent said device body from rotating about said biasing member with respect to said rail clip when said distal end is inserted in said slot.
A method for adjusting a firearm accessory device, comprising:
- pulling a device body into a first position against a biasing force provided with a biasing member attached to said device body such that a protrusion attached to said device body is pulled out of a first recess formed in a rail clip positioned between said device body and a firearm rail where said rail clip is slidably attached to said firearm rail;
- rotating said device body to a second position;
- and
- moving said device body toward said firearm rail such that said protrusion enters a second recess formed in said rail clip and said device body is held against said rail clip with said biasing force.
A firearm accessory device for attachment to a rail, comprising:
- a spring loaded member extending from a device body through an aperture of a rail clip;
- said spring loaded member comprising a distal end shaped for insertion into a rail slot;
- and
- said device body comprising a protrusion that prevents said device body from rotating about said spring loaded member when said distal end is inserted in said rail slot.
