Abstract
A system and method of deriving web service interfaces from form and table metadata is disclosed. The method uses a discovery subsystem to discover services that are available on an application server, retrieves the metadata descriptions of the services on the application server and uses the services discovered and the metadata descriptions to create web services interfaces such that the service is available using web services description language.

A computer-implemented method of calling a web service derived from a user interface form, the method comprising:
- sending, by a computing device, a request to the web service, the web service derived from the user interface form, the web service having an interface defining
- a web service field, the web service field derived from user interface form metadata, the user interface form metadata specifying a field within a database table, and
- a web service method, the web service method related to an operation of the user interface form.
A computer readable storage medium comprising computer executable code for deriving web service interfaces from form and table metadata, wherein the computer code further comprises code for:
- sending a request to the web service, the web service derived from the user interface form, the web service having an interface defining
- a web service field, the web service field derived from user interface form metadata, the user interface form metadata specifying a field within a database table, and
- a web service method, the web service method related to an operation of the user interface form.
A computer system comprising a processor for executing computer executable code, a memory for storing computer executable code and an input/output circuit, the computer executable code further comprising code for deriving web service interfaces from form and table metadata, wherein the computer code further comprises code for:
- sending, by a computing device, a request to the web service, the web service derived from the user interface form, the web service having an interface defining
- a web service field, the web service field derived from user interface form metadata, the user interface form metadata specifying a field within a database table, and
- a web service method, the web service method related to an operation of the user interface form.
