Abstract

An approach is provided in which a power design verification system retrieves a power intent data corresponding to a power design, which identifies the power design's power modes and power mode transition conditions. The power design verification system selects one of the power mode transition conditions, which identifies input signals that invoke a transition from a first power mode to a second power mode. In turn, the power design verification system generates simulation stimuli based upon the identified input signals and simulates the power design utilizing the generated simulation stimuli accordingly.

Dependent claims

A method comprising:

retrieving, by a module, power intent data that corresponds to a power design, the power intent data identifying a plurality of power modes and a plurality of power mode transition conditions;
selecting, by the module, one of the plurality of power mode transition conditions included in the power intent data, wherein the selected power mode transition condition identifies one or more input signals from a plurality of input signals that trigger a power mode transition from a first one of the plurality of power modes to a second one of the plurality of power modes;
generating simulation stimuli based upon the identified one or more input signals that trigger the power mode transition;
and
simulating the power design utilizing the generated simulation stimuli.

one or more processors;
a memory coupled to at least one of the processors;
a set of computer program instructions stored in the memory and executed by at least one of the processors in order to perform actions of:
retrieving power intent data that corresponds to a power design, the power intent data identifying a plurality of power modes and a plurality of power mode transition conditions;
selecting one of the plurality of power mode transition conditions included in the power intent data, wherein the selected power mode transition condition identifies one or more input signals from a plurality of input signals that trigger a power mode transition from a first one of the plurality of power modes to a second one of the plurality of power modes;
generating simulation stimuli based upon the identified one or more input signals that trigger the power mode transition;
and
simulating the power design utilizing the generated simulation stimuli.

a computer readable storage medium;
first program instructions to retrieve power intent data that corresponds to a power design, the power intent data identifying a plurality of power modes and a plurality of power mode transition conditions;
second program instructions to select one of the plurality of power mode transition conditions included in the power intent data, wherein the selected power mode transition condition identifies one or more input signals from a plurality of input signals that trigger a power mode transition from a first one of the plurality of power modes to a second one of the plurality of power modes;
third program instructions to generate simulation stimuli based upon the identified one or more input signals that trigger the power mode transition;
fourth program instructions to simulate the power design utilizing the generated simulation stimuli;
and
wherein the first, second, third, and fourth program instructions are stored on the computer readable storage medium.
