Abstract
A system and method for processing a digital image. A digital image and a definition of a segment therein may be obtained. A sampling area may be defined wherein the sampling area at least partly overlaps with the segment. A characteristic value for the sampling area may be determined The image may be represented based on the characteristic value. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
Claims20
A method for processing a digital image, the method comprising:
- obtaining a digital image and a definition of a segment therein;
- defining at least one sampling area in the digital image, the sampling area at least partly overlapping with the segment;
- determining at least one characteristic value for said at least one sampling area;
- and
- representing the digital image based on the at least one characteristic value.
An article comprising a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium, having stored thereon instructions, that when executed on a computer, cause the computer to:
- obtain a digital image and a definition of a segment therein;
- define at least one sampling area in the digital image, the sampling area at least partly overlapping with the segment;
- determine at least one characteristic value for said at least one sampling area;
- and
- represent the digital image based on the at least one characteristic value.
A system including a memory and a controller, the controller to:
- load a digital image and a definition of a segment therein into the memory;
- define at least one sampling area in the digital image, the sampling area at least partly overlapping with the segment;
- determine at least one characteristic value for said at least one sampling area;
- and
- represent the digital image based on the at least one characteristic value.
