Abstract
The present invention provides novel and advantageous materials and methods for preventing and treating viral infection.

A compound, including salts thereof, wherein the compound has a structure selected from formula I to formula IV:
- a) formula I:
- (I) wherein R1-R13 are, independently —H, —OH, acyl, halo, haloalkyl, amino, alkylamino, hydroxyl, alkyl, hydroxylalkyl, alkoxy, thiol, cyano or —COOH;
- b) formula II:
- wherein R1-R9 are, independently —H, —OH, acyl, halo, haloalkyl, amino, alkylamino, hydroxyl, alkyl, hydroxylalkyl, alkoxy, thiol, cyano or —COOH;
- c) formula III:
- wherein R1-R9 are, independently —H, —OH, acyl, halo, haloalkyl, amino, alkylamino, hydroxyl, alkyl, hydroxylalkyl, alkoxy, thiol, cyano or —COOH;
- d) formula IV:
- wherein R1-R8 are, independently —H, —OH, acyl, halo, haloalkyl, amino, alkylamino, hydroxyl, alkyl, hydroxylalkyl, alkoxy, thiol, cyano or —COOH.
