Abstract
The invention relates to mutant channelrhodopsins having improved properties, nucleic acid constructs encoding same, expression vectors carrying the nucleic acid construct, cells comprising said nucleic acid construct or expression vector, and their respective uses.
Claims19
A light-inducible ion channel, comprising:
- an amino acid sequence which has
- at least 70% homology to an amino acid sequence shown in positions 1-309 of SEQ ID NO:
- 1, and
- a substitution at a position corresponding to L132 in SEQ ID NO:
- 1, wherein the substitution increases a polarity of the light-inducible ion channel.
