Abstract
The present invention relates to compositions and methods for inhibiting or suppressing undifferentiated or pluripotent stem cell growth and proliferation in a differentiated or differentiating cell population or culture.
Claims26
A method for reducing the number or percentage of pluripotent stem cells in a population of cells, comprising:
- contacting a population of cells comprising at least one pluripotent stem cell with a pluripotent stem cell-selective inhibitor or cytotoxic-agent selected from the group consisting of:
- caffeic acid, Ivermectin, chelerythrine chloride and combinations thereof, thereby reducing the number or percentage of pluripotent stem cells in the population of cells.

A composition comprising:
- a) a pluripotent stem cell, and at least one cell selected from the group consisting of a differentiating derivative of the pluripotent stem cell and a differentiated derivative of the pluripotent stem cell;
- and
- b) a pluripotent stem cell-selective inhibitor or cytotoxic agent selected from the group consisting of:

A method for reducing the number or percentage of pluripotent stem cells in a population of cells, comprising:
- contacting a population of cells comprising at least one pluripotent stem cell and at least one differentiating or differentiated cell with a pluripotent stem cell-selective inhibitor or cytotoxic agent wherein the selective inhibitor or cytotoxic agent is selected from the group consisting of caffeic acid, ivermectin, chelerythrine chloride and combinations thereof, thereby reducing the number or percentage of pluripotent stem cells in the population of cells.
