Preparation and use of a plant extract from solanum glaucophyllum with an enriched content of 1,25 dihdrocyvitamin d3 glycosides and quercetin glycosides

An enriched plant extract from Solanum glaucophyllum obtained or obtainable by the method for preparation and purification of an enriched plant extract from Solanum glaucophyllum by:

• (a) extracting plants or parts thereof from the species Solanum Glaucophyllum using an alcohol/water mixture having an alcohol/water ratio (%) of 75/25 to 25/75 (v/v), the alcohol selected from the group consisting of methanol, ethanol and isopropanol;
• and
• (b) purifying the plant extract obtained according to step a), using the steps:
• b1) applying the plant extract obtained according to step a) to a column comprising a non-ionic polymer resin selected from the group consisting of polystyrene, styrene-divinyl-benzene copolymers, acrylic ester polymers and polyphenolic resins;
• b2) washing the column with water;
• b3) eluting the enriched plant extract from the column;
• and
• b4) concentrating and/or drying the enriched plant extract.
