Abstract
The instant invention relates to the field of protein production and purification, and in particular to compositions and processes for controlling the distribution or amount of lysine variants expressed by host cells, as well as to compositions and processes for controlling the amount of lysine variants present in purified preparations.

A method for controlling protein heterogeneity in a population of proteins produced by a culture of cells expressing a protein of interest comprising implementing a change to a cell culture condition whereby the change in the cell culture condition results in control of protein heterogeneity, wherein the protein heterogeneity is heterogeneity of the distribution of lysine variants in the population of proteins.
