Abstract
Disclosed herein are methods of inhibiting proliferation of a cancer cell or inducing apoptosis of a cancer cell, which does not overexpress N—CoR. Also disclosed herein are methods of inhibiting proliferation or inducing apoptosis of a cancer cell that overexpresses TCTP and methods for determining whether a compound is effective in inducing cell death.
Claims23
A method of enhancing the anti-cancer activity of an anti-cancer agent in a subject afflicted with a cancer, comprising administering to the subject a compound, wherein the compound has the structure,
- or a salt, enantiomer or zwitterion of the compound, in an amount effective to enhance the anti-cancer activity of the anti-cancer agent.
A method of inhibiting proliferation or inducing apoptosis of a cancer cell in a human subject, comprising administering to the subject
- a) a compound, wherein the compound has the structure
- a salt, enantiomer or zwitterion of the compound, in an amount effective to inhibit the proliferation or to induce apoptosis of the cancer cell, and
- b) an anti-cancer agent in an amount effective to inhibit the proliferation or to induce apoptosis of the cancer cell.
A method of inhibiting proliferation or inducing apoptosis of a cancer cell in a human subject which overexpresses TCTP comprising administering to the subject
- a) a compound, wherein the compound has the structure
- or a salt, enantiomer or zwitterion of the compound, in an amount effective to inhibit the proliferation or to induce apoptosis of the cancer cell, and
