Methods and Arrangements in a Cellular Communication System

A method in a first network node managing a mobile terminal in a cellular communication system, the method comprising:

• obtaining information on the mobile terminal and at least one access point;
• analyzing the obtained information and based on the analysis and predefined criteria, determining whether a second access point is more suitable than a first access point for executing one or more serving functions related to the mobile terminal;
• and
• when a second access point is found to be more suitable for executing one or more of the serving functions, arranging such that the one or more serving functions are delegated from the first access point to the second access point, while keeping the overall responsibility for the managing of the mobile terminal.

An arrangement in a first network node in a cellular communication system, the arrangement comprising:

• an obtaining unit, adapted to obtain information on a mobile terminal managed by the first network node, and at least one access point;
• an analyzing unit, adapted to analyze the obtained information;
• a determining unit, adapted to determine, based on the analysis and predefined criteria, whether a second access point is more suitable than a first access point for executing one or more serving functions related to the mobile terminal;
• and
• a delegation unit, adapted to arrange such that the one or more serving functions are delegated from the first access point to the second access point when the second access point is found to be more suitable for executing the one or more serving functions, while keeping the overall responsibility for the managing of the mobile terminal.

A method in an access point in a in a cellular communication system, said method comprising:

• receiving a delegation request related to a serving function and a mobile terminal, from a requesting network node;
• determining whether the request could be accepted;
• and
• indicating the result of the determining to the requesting node.

An arrangement in an access point in a cellular communication system, said arrangement comprising:

• an obtaining unit, adapted to receive a delegation request from a requesting network node;
• a determining unit, adapted to determine whether the request could be accepted;
• and
• a delegation unit, adapted to indicate the result of the determining to the requesting node.
