Method for improving electrical parameters in capacitors comprising pedot/pss as a solid electrolyte through a polyalkylene glycol

A method for manufacturing a capacitor, comprising the method steps:

• a) providing an electrode body made of an electrode material, wherein a dielectric at least partially covers a surface of the electrode material, to obtain an anode body;
• b) introducing a dispersion, which comprises particles of an electrically conductive polymer with a particle size (d50) of 70 nm and less and a dispersing agent, into at least a part of the anode body;
• c) at least partial removing the dispersing agent, to obtain a capacitor body;
• d) introducing, into the capacitor body, a polyalkylene glycol or a polyalkylene glycol derivative or a combination of at least two thereof as an impregnating agent.

A capacitor comprising:

• i an electrode body made of an electrode material, wherein a dielectric at least partially covers the surface of this electrode material and forms an anode body,
• ii. wherein the anode body is at least partially coated with a solid electrolyte and forms a capacitor body,
• iii. wherein the capacitor body comprises an organic impregnating agent,
• wherein the capacitor has the following properties:
• (α1) a decrease of the capacitance of at most 20%;
• on reducing the temperature from 20° C. to −45° C.;
• and
• (α2) a breakdown voltage of at least 50 V;
• wherein the organic impregnating agent has a melting point of less than 150° C. and has no boiling point.
