Abstract
Electro-wetting display devices are disclosed. The electro-wetting display may include an upper structure and a lower structure opposite to each other, a hydrophobic insulating layer covering a bottom surface of the upper structure, hydrophilic partitions disposed between the hydrophobic insulating layer and the lower structure to define pixel regions, and a colorless conductive fluid and a colored non-conductive fluid filling each of the pixel regions. A specific gravity of the colored non-conductive fluid may be smaller than a specific gravity of the colorless conductive fluid.
Claims19
An electro-wetting display device comprising:
- an upper structure and a lower structure opposite to each other;
- a hydrophobic insulating layer covering a bottom surface of the upper structure;
- hydrophilic partitions disposed between the hydrophobic insulating layer and the lower structure to define pixel regions;
- and
- a colorless conductive fluid and a colored non-conductive fluid filling each of the pixel regions,
- wherein a specific gravity of the colored non-conductive fluid is smaller than a specific gravity of the colorless conductive fluid.
An electro-wetting display device comprising:
- a light emitting element;
- a lower structure disposed on the light emitting element, the lower structure including a lower substrate, a lower electrode disposed on the lower substrate, and a lower insulating layer covering the lower electrode;
- an upper structure opposite to the lower structure, the upper structure including an upper substrate disposed on the upper substrate, and an upper insulating layer covering the upper electrode;
- hydrophilic partitions disposed between the lower structure and the upper structure and defining pixel regions;
- and
- a colorless conductive fluid and a colored non-conductive fluid filling each of the pixel regions.
