Abstract
A video communication device includes a first camera and a second camera that are positioned at different positions to form a symmetrical relationship about a reference point at a periphery of a video display screen. The video communication device performs video communication based on images that are acquired from the first camera and the second camera, and performs a communication mode change according to a request for a communication mode change.
Claims20
A video communication device, comprising:
- a communication processor that performs communication through a network;
- an image display unit;
- and
- a first camera and second camera that are positioned at a periphery of the image display unit and that are each positioned at different positions to form a symmetrical relationship about a reference point.
A method of performing communication in a video communication device that performs communication with another communication device through a network, the method comprising:
- determining whether a request for a communication mode change occurs;
- and
- changing, if a request for a communication mode change occurs, a communication mode from a present communication mode to a target communication mode according to the change request.
A method of performing communication in a video communication device that performs communication with another communication device through a network, the method comprising:
- acquiring a first viewpoint image and a second viewpoint image from a first camera and a second camera, respectively, that are positioned at a periphery of a video display screen and that are positioned at different positions to form a symmetrical relationship about a reference point;
- generating a viewpoint synthesis image based on the first viewpoint image and the second viewpoint image when a present communication mode is a video communication mode based on a viewpoint synthesis image;
- and
- performing video communication based on the viewpoint synthesis image.
