Abstract
The invention provides a Bioreactor-Membrane Integrated Technology (B-MIT), comprising an immobilized cellular system bioreactor that initially treats raw water, functionally integrated with a membrane system where the biologically treated water is filtered to generate high quality finished water.
Claims15
An integrated water processing technology comprising:
- one or more immobilized cellular systems in fluid communication with a membrane system comprising one or more membrane units;
- each of the one or more immobilized cellular systems comprising a holding tank having a raw water input and effluent output and one or more biological treatment/processing units;
- each of the one or more biological treatment/processing units comprising a biological component and a biological support component;
- wherein the membrane system receives water from said one or more immobilized cells systems and filters said water to remove contaminants.
