Image analysis for determining characteristics of individuals

A method for predicting one or more characteristics of an individual based on one or more metrics related to the individual, comprising:

• storing one or more digital images representing the individual in a memory operably connected to a digital computer, in association with digital images representing a plurality of other individuals;
• annotating the one or more digital images with a plurality of reference points;
• computing, with the digital computer, the one or more metrics using the plurality of reference points;
• and
• predicting the one or more characteristics based on the one or more metrics.

A system for predicting one or more characteristics of an individual, comprising:

• at least one processor;
• at least one memory, operably connected to the at least one processor and configured to store data and software code that, when executed by the at least one processor, causes the system to:
• for each of a plurality of individuals of a type,
• store one or more digital images representing the individual in the at least one memory;
• annotate the one or more digital images with a plurality of reference points;
• associate a data set about the individual with the one or more digital images representing the individual;
• compute one or more metrics using the plurality of reference points;
• and
• determine one or more predictors for the one or more characteristic of the individual based on the one or more metrics.

A computer readable medium comprising a set of instructions that, when executed by a processor comprising a computing device, causes the computing device to:

• for each of a plurality of individuals of a type,
• store one or more digital images representing the individual in a memory operably connected to the processor;
• annotate the one or more digital images with a plurality of reference points;
• associate a data set about the individual with the one or more digital images representing the individual;
• compute one or more metrics using the plurality of reference points;
• and
• determine one or more predictors for one or more characteristics of individuals of the type based on the one or more metrics.

A system for predicting one or more characteristics of an individual based on one or more metrics related to the individual, comprising:

• at least one processor;
• at least one memory, operably connected to the at least one processor and configured to store data and software code that, when executed by the at least one processor, causes the system to:
• store one or more digital images representing the individual in the at least one memory, in association with digital images representing a plurality of other individuals;
• annotate the one or more digital images with a plurality of reference points;
• compute the one or more metrics using the plurality of reference points;
• and
• predict the one or more characteristics based on the one or more metrics and one or more predetermined functions.

A computer readable medium comprising a set of instructions that, when executed by a processor comprising a computing device, causes the computing device to:

• store one or more digital images representing an individual in a memory operably connected to the processor, in association with digital images representing a plurality of other individuals;
• annotate the one or more digital images with a plurality of reference points;
• compute the one or more metrics using the plurality of reference points;
• and
• predict the one or more characteristics of the individual based on the one or more metrics and one or more predetermined functions.
